  • NAVIGATION ON THE MAP

In order to move in the map, press and hold down the left mouse button and move the cursor, similarly to the drag-and-drop method. To end the movement, let go of the left mouse button. After clicking on the map, you can move on the map view with the cursor (arrow) keys.

To zoom and zoom out, you can use the + (zoom) or (zoom out) buttons at the upper left corner of the map, or move the scroll wheel forward (zoom) or backward (zoom out).

  • SIDEBAR

The sidebar on the right side of the map contains the functions related to the mapping application. By clicking the arrow at the top of the icon bar, the sidebar can be minimized, collapsed, or opened when it is already collapsed. In the sidebar, you can click on the name and icon of the function you want to open.

  • LEGEND

The legend contains the signal keys of the map layers on the map in the same order as the layers appear on the map. The type of icon before the name of the map layer refers to the dimension of the geometries in the layer. For surface-type (2D) geometries, a square, for line-type (1D) geometries, a horizontal section, and for point-like (0D) geometries, a dot appears in the key to used signs.

If the layer is categorized based on the linked alphanumeric data (e.g. thematic layers), an icon indicating a tree structure will appear in front of the name of the layer and the categories will be listed below the name of the layer.

  • LAYER MANAGER

The layer manager enables you to change and manage the visibility and some other properties of the map layers. With the two icons at the top of the layer manager, you can turn on the visibility of all layers simultaneously (icon: + sign next to the eye) or you can turn them off (icon: – sign next to the eye).

With the icon before the name of the layer, resembling an eye, you can turn the visibility of the given layer on and off. By clicking the arrow icon next to the name of the layer, the second icon bar can be shown or hidden.

The icon resembling a half-filled, half-empty circle displays the slide controlling the transparency of the layer, and you can change the transparency degree of the layer on the slide by moving the button.

The icon with the + sign in the magnifying glass displays a map view including all the geometries of the layer.

By clicking the data sheet icon (if it is active), the browser will navigate to the data sheet related to the given layer.

  • BASE MAP

It enables the change of the global base map layer helping navigation. Clicking on the icon or name of the selected base map changes the base map below the map layers and a base map in the style of the icon emerges instead.
