MASH EGTC
Information
The MASH European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation with Limited Liability was registered on 16.06.2015 and brings together 4 municipalities of the Hungarian-Slovenian border section. The operating area of the EGTC covers a total of 67,6 km2, in the area of the Zala hills, the Őrség National Park and the Lendava/Lendva-patak. The headquarters of the EGTC is located in the Hungarian village of Nagymizdó, the population of the EGTC is 3 083.
The general objectives of the MASH EGTC are the following:
- promoting cooperation between territorial units on both sides of the Hungarian-Slovenian border and the various organizations operating in this region by strengthening economic, social and territorial cohesion;
- comprehensive social catching-up of the border regions of the associated countries’ border territories on a partnership basis;
- implementation of territorial cooperation programs co-financed by the European Union;
- elaboration and implementation of coordinated development programs that ensure the long-term sustainability of pilot model projects and subsequent programs.
