European perspective

The present report’s objective is the presentation and comparison of the Council of Europe’s and the European Union’s instruments of cross-border cooperation. The first two chapters outline the characteristics of the instruments of cross-border cooperation employed by the two institutions and focus on particular programmes. While the final part is devoted to the comparison of the mechanisms used by the two institutions in the field of transfrontier cooperation, with particular emphasis put on the presentation of similarities and differences between them.
