EGTC-monitor

What it is? What is it good for?

Our association, the Central European Service for Cross-Border Initiatives (CESCI) has been providing technical support for the establishment and development of European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) ever since its founding.

  • We assist ...

    … the initiator municipalities and authorities to prepare and later amend the founding documents, to set up own institutions, to perform public procurements.

  • We provide ...

    … them with planning support for the elaboration (sometimes also for the implementation) of integrated cross-border development strategies, action plans, projects.

  • As a policy-making mission, we take part ...

    … in the shaping of the EU and domestic level policy and legislative environment where we represent the interest of the Hungarian EGTCs, as well as we participate in the design of solutions and tools facilitating the effective cross-border development activities of the groupings.

  • Within the framework of our dissemination activities we regularly inform ...

    … the Hungarian EGTCs on the achievements of the EU and ont he available funding opportunities – e.g. at the EGTC workshops established by CESCI in 2012, convened 3 or 4 times a year.

During our activities plenty of data, information and knowledge have accumulated about the operation of the EGTCs. As almost one third of the groupings established so far in the EU started their work with Hungarian participation, we consider the dissemination of this knowledge relevant also at the level of the European Union.

The EGTC-monitor offers three sorts of information for the representatives of local and regional municipalities interested in this cooperation form, scientific researchers and experts taking part in policy-making processes:

  • First, ...

    … it provides a comprehensive picture on the EU tool accompanied with rich literature: what it is, what is it good for, how to set-up that;

  • Second, ...

    … through the application of diverse indicators, it introduces the operational Hungarian EGTCs and gives information on their news and events;

  • Finally, ...

    … the monitor provides GIS-based insight in the territorial processes of the regions covered by the Hungarian EGTCs.

We make available this dynamic database with the hope that visitors find thereby all information on the Hungarian groupings what they are looking for.
