The main goal of the project is to stabilise a modern, developed and competitive economy in the border region. Thanks to the increasingly open cross-border business activities and to the exchange of experiences, harmful competition is decreasing from the Hungarian and the Serbian side as well.
Moreover, the project aims to successfully implement the economic planning for the Municipality of Kanizsa and the development of a strategic document for the Municipality of Kanjiža, which is compliant with EU regulations and it promotes effective catch-up with the global market.
One of the main goals of establishing the Banat-Triplex Confinium EGTC is the development of cross-border economic, social and environmental activities through joint strategies for sustainable territorial development, with its headquarter in Mórahalom. Furthermore, it aims to review existing regional and Southern Great Plain strategies, programmes and operational programmes both on the Hungarian and on the Serbian side, and to prepare and coordinate strategies. Among the goals are organising programmes for the operational sectors, identifying and implementing projects, updating the development strategy of local municipalities, preparing joint cross-border Sectoral Operational Programmes and developing projects.
The results of the project are as follows:
– Provide equipment for the office of Banat Triplex Confinium European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (BTC EGTC)
– Joint webpage (the BTC-EGTC partnership and project centre)
– Creation of a pilot strategy
– Sectoral Operational Programmes (tourism, renewable energy, innovative economic development, processing industry, with a special emphasis on food industry)
– Three workshops, opening event
– TV reports and interviews
