Ister – Granum EGTC is participating as a partner in the international project BorderLabs CE (CE0200537), implemented with the support of the Interreg Central Europe Programme. The opening event of the PILOT project ‘Cross-border marketing and promotion of local products’ took place on the morning of 24 April 2025 at the VÍZA Centre in Párkány. After the welcoming speeches, Director Péter Nagy presented the objectives and planned activities of the BorderLabs project and introduced the international partners. The project is being implemented in cooperation with Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy, Austria and Hungary. He gave a detailed presentation of the planned activities, challenges and objectives of the EGTC PILOT project. He also shared with the participants the activities and results of the project, which has been running for almost a year, as well as the experience gained at the project meetings.

After the lunch break, the first Regional Stakeholder Group (RSG) meeting took place. During the meeting, participants outlined the current situation in the region in a more informal setting. Since 2012, the EGTC has been involved in several projects aimed at developing a local product network. It has also developed a trademark system, which has already been joined by nearly fifty producers and service providers. Over the past 11 years, cross-border cooperation staff and partners have faced many difficulties and obstacles that hinder regional actors’ access to markets and the establishment of direct links between producers and consumers. This knowledge has greatly helped the participants to accurately outline the starting point and define the objectives, taking into account the specific challenges of the border region in terms of marketing local products and sustainable farming. After a brief summary, the tasks for the next period were defined.
