The #waves Project Launches: Successful Kick-off Meeting
Information
The coordination and communication activities of the #waves project have officially begun. With support from the Interreg Hungary–Slovakia Programme under the measure “Comprehensive Development of Tourist Destinations,” extensive tourism developments will be implemented in the tri-area of Szigetköz, Csallóköz, and the Pannonhalma Hills.
The coordination of these comprehensive developments, as well as communication and network-building among regional stakeholders, is the responsibility of the project identified as HUSK/2401/01/2.4/007, the so-called CCP (Coordination and Communication Project). The coordination and umbrella tasks for the individual project packages are carried out by Arrabona EGTC.
As part of the #waves coordination and communication project, Arrabona EGTC has undertaken to organize regular project partner meetings. The first project partner meeting was announced for January 30, 2026. All stakeholders involved in the various project packages attended the kick-off meeting. The purpose of the event was to review the current status of the project, the developments being launched, management-related issues, and to lay the foundations for further cooperation.
In his welcome speech, Tamás Zoltán Németh, Director of Arrabona EGTC, emphasized that following the successful approval of the application, the focus now shifts to the effective implementation phase, in which the CCP will play a key role: supporting management activities, facilitating partnership-building, and ensuring the project’s coherent professional framework.
The project partners provided detailed presentations on the progress achieved so far in their respective developments and outlined the specific tasks ahead.
At the proposal of Arrabona EGTC, the participants agreed to hold regular quarterly meetings within the framework of the coordination and communication project. In addition to providing professional support for project management, these meetings aim to promote the sharing of best practices, professional inspiration, and joint strategic thinking. Beyond the project partners directly involved, other tourism stakeholders in the region will also be invited to these meetings, thereby supporting destination network-building and the development of tourism packages.
