V4–Ukraine CBC Closing Conference at Uzhhorod National University

On February 5–6, 2026, the closing event of a project examining the good practices and institutional conditions of cross-border cooperation (CBC) between the Visegrád Four and Ukraine was held in Uzhhorod, organised by Uzhhorod National University.
During the first day of the two-day conference, the project’s research findings and practical examples were presented. On the second day, participants discussed policy recommendations addressed to national, regional, and local stakeholders. A key objective of the project was to identify institutional and implementation lessons from the experiences of the V4 countries that could be adapted for Ukraine.
Participants were welcomed by Volodymyr Smolanka, Rector of Uzhhorod National University; Roman Saray, Chairman of the Zakarpattia Regional Council; and Gombor Bence, Consul of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhhorod.
In the first session of the event, the project team leader, Myroslava Lendel, Vice-Rector for International Relations at Uzhhorod National University, together with her colleagues Yuliia Feťko, Nadiia Kichera, and Oksana Sviezhentseva, presented the results of their research. This was followed by four presentations focusing on Hungarian and Slovak cooperation experiences.
Representing the Tisza EGTC, Deputy Director Judit Jevcsák and Project Manager Karolina Dancs attended the conference.
