Strengthening Economic Cooperation in Kaposvár – Successful Roundtable with the Support of the Bethlen Gábor Fund

Within the framework of a twin-town cooperation project supported by the Bethlen Gábor Fund, an economic roundtable discussion was held in Kaposvár. The project concept and application were prepared and submitted by the Pannon European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (Pannon EGTC).

The initiative aimed to strengthen international relations between partner municipalities and to explore new directions for economic and institutional cooperation.

In addition to representatives of the City of Kaposvár with county rights, and its twin towns – Koprivnica and Miercurea Ciuc – professional staff members of Pannon EGTC also took part in the event. The professional dialogue focused on opportunities for economic development, strengthening tourism cooperation, and identifying connections in education and innovation. Participants jointly reviewed future project ideas and funding opportunities that could contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the partner municipalities and deepening long-term cooperation between the regions.

The roundtable proved to be an important milestone in strengthening professional relations between the municipalities. Participants agreed that economic cooperation, joint tourism initiatives, and the development of institutional partnerships are key to the sustainable expansion of cross-border relations. The professional proposals and cooperation directions formulated during the meeting are expected to form the basis of further joint programs and projects in the future.

For Pannon EGTC, the event fits well into its broader objective of actively supporting the strengthening of partnerships between municipalities and creating platforms where local stakeholders can shape the future of regional cooperation through direct dialogue.
