The purpose of this document is to effectively contribute to the review process of the EGTC regulation and to the successful operation of the EGTCs that were established in the European Union. The document provides an overview about the EGTC institutional instrument, such as the interpretation of the “founding fathers” and the interpretation of the EGTC actors. Moreover, the study reflects on the relationship between sovereignty and the EGTC, as well as on the resolution of potential conflicts. In addition, the document sets out proposals towards the regulation on the EGTC.
