Crossing the borders – Studies on cross-border cooperation within the Danube Region – Case Study – Cooperation of the Moravian-Silesian (CZ) and Žilina (SK) Self-governing Regions in the EGTC TRITIA

Abstract

The case study published in the Crossing the Borders volume presenting CBC in the Danube Region deals with the cooperation of the Moravian-Silesian Region (the Czech Republic) and the Žilina Self-Governing Region (Slovakia) and the qualitative change of that cooperation which came with the process of the EGTC TRITIA creation.

The main objective of the study is to present the institutionalisation of cross-border cooperation between the two member regions of the EGTC TRITIA. The authors offer geographic and historical explanation as well as goals and activities, management and budget, future plans of the cooperation, its unique and regionally specific features, and present the weak and strong points of cooperation.
