This paper presents answers for the questions related to territorial (cross-border, transnational and/or interregional) cooperation. It primarily aims to discover the objectives and the mission of the EGTC as a European institutional tool. To be more specific, the discussion paper essentially seeks to answer such questions like the standardisation process of the established EGTCs, itemising the advantages of the EGTC, optional tools for improvement, obstacles to the creation of the EGTCs, measures supporting institutionalised territorial cooperation, improving the procedure for creating EGTCs.
