European perspective

The study on “European experience of citizens’ participation in cross-border governance” is a preparatory action to the Council of Europe Conference on “Democratic Governance of Transfrontier Territories” (October 2015). The study offers an overview of experiences and practices of citizens’ participation in the management of transfrontier activities and initiatives, as a working document for the conference. The study looks at the following issues: cross-border cooperation, governance and accountability, citizens’ engagement. Furthermore, the study involves case-studies, interviews and assessment.
