Hungarian overview

This study analyses the institutionalisation of Euroregional strategic partnerships based on questionnaire surveys and interviews with the leaders of Euroregions operating in Hungary. Its aim is to identify the roles of various economic, socio-cultural, and political actors in the forms of cooperation that have emerged over the past two decades in Hungary’s border regions.

In our research, we sought to answer whether institutional conditions exist to support the role of Euroregions in shaping Hungary’s neighborhood policy, and which levels of Hungarian public administration are suitable for implementing national policy objectives within the altered framework of the borders.
