Arrabona EGTC

Győr 750 contest! This year this does not refer to an outstanding or rare collocation, but rather a quite enjoyable series of events, which is undoubtedly an unusual and odd one in the life of Arrabona EGTC. In the framework of the EGTC-winning tender with the ID TOP-7.1.1-16-H-ESZA-2020-01590, Arrabona EGTC organises a series of contests for high school students, where the contestants are given a chance to compete against one another in the field of sport, culture and creative economy.

The first round of this contest took place in the afternoon on 30 September 2021 on Aranypart II (a public beach on the banks of river Danube in Győr) with the participation of 90 children, their companions and water tour leaders. The 10-member-teams started arriving early in the afternoon, and made their way into the first round following a pre-qualification. Their task was to come along a short slalom track in catamarans of attached canoes as fast as possible.

During the hour spent on water, they had the opportunity to experience how hard, but at the same time, how fun it is to work together as a team. In the drawing up of the tasks and the implementation of the rounds, Arrabona EGTC is cooperating with the Municipality of Győr, Mobilis Public Benefit Nonprofit Ltd, Dr. Kovács Pál Library and Social Space, Győr Center for Vocational Education and Training, Handball Federation of Győr-Moson-Sopron county and the GreenEx Recreational Organisation of Szigetköz. 5 teams have advanced from the water round; they can expect further exciting and creative tasks in the upcoming months.
