MuKoBridge HUHR/1902/2.1.4/0002 – An opening conference was held for the project focusing on the construction of the Mura Bridge, connecting Murakeresztur and Kotoriba

The opening conference of the Mura Bridge project, which facilitates road traffic and cycling between Murakeresztur and Kotoriba, took place on 16 July 2021.

Following the opening speeches of Josip Grivec, chair of the Mura Region EGTC, and László Preksen, co-chair, László Palkovics, the minister for Innovation and Technology gave a welcoming speech and emphasized, that rivers do not separate but connect. Furthermore he highlighted, that the planned bridge will make it easier for people living near the border to go to school or work, as currently the two settlements can only be reached taking a 50 kilometres long detour.

Project partners NIF Ltd. and Hrvatske Ceste D.o.o., as well as RODEN Ltd., representing the architects, showcased different design alternatives for the bridge and its connecting parts. The MuKoBridge project has a total budget of EUR 920 394.3, and is 85% co-financed by the EU and 15% by Hungary. The planned completion date is 31 December 2022, by which time the winner of the public procurement, RODEN Ltd, will have prepared a complex technical documentation for the bridge.
