Over the last five years, 152 ideas have been given the green light in the region of Košice, funded by the Small Project Fund, managed by Via Carpatia EGTC. In the period 2017-2023, two counties in Slovakia and four counties in Hungary have joined and participated in projects promoted by the Small Project Fund, which have supported cultural activities and children’s and adult education for the people of the regions concerned, as well as contributing to the preservation of their ancestral traditions and the funding of related activities.

Dr Julianna Máté, Director of Via Carpatia EGTC, considers it a great success that they have managed to distribute more than €6 million from the regional level to local organisations.

“As this project is unique at European level, we would like to continue to support cross-border regions in this way. We will continue this programme in the coming period, with the first calls for proposals expected in the autumn of this year. It will also be possible to apply for funding from the existing beneficiary organisations, so it is advisable to follow the Via Carpatia EGTC’s community profile and the updates on the viacarpatia-spf.eu website”, added Dr. Julianna Máté. The applicants and project partners from the six counties presented their achievements so far at the final conference in Tiszaújváros on 24 May 2023. The organisation is currently preparing the continuation of successful projects for the period 2023-2027. For more information, please visit this website.
