From record floods to severe droughts – joint responses along the Drava River
Information
The project entitled ‘Resilient Borders – Strengthening flood and drought resilience along the Drava’, implemented by the Baranya County Council and its Croatian partner county, Virovitičko-podravska županija, with the support of the European Commission and the Association of European Border Regions – AEBR.
The project was coordinated by the Pannon EGTC, which worked with Hungarian and Croatian partners and CESCI to develop an action plan to help the region prepare for the challenges posed by climate change in the long term:
Real-time data and monitoring system for rapid forecasting
Joint training and exercises for professionals
Sustainable water management solutions along the Drava
It is of paramount importance to Pannon EGTC that the action plan now developed does not remain merely a technical document, but provides a basis for future Hungarian-Croatian cooperation and contributes to a safer and more sustainable future for the Drava region.
