EGTC Snapshot 2026

The EGTC Snapshot 2026 is a comprehensive professional publication presenting the operation, achievements, and regional development significance of European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation (EGTCs) with Hungarian participation. Continuing the tradition of previous annual monitoring reports, it provides an in-depth analysis of the activities of EGTCs with Hungarian members and their role in territorial development.

At present, 15 active EGTCs with Hungarian participation operate across Hungary’s border regions. Since the establishment of the first Hungarian EGTC in 2008, these groupings have participated in the implementation and coordination of development projects worth more than 270 million euros, contributing to enhanced economic competitiveness, improved public services, sustainable tourism, and stronger social and institutional cooperation amongst others.

Through infographics, thematic maps, and case studies, the publication highlights the distinctive profiles and good practices of individual EGTCs while offering a comprehensive overview of how the Hungarian EGTC network contributes to the convergence, competitiveness, and European integration of border regions.
