A comprehensive, sustainable tourism development project is set to begin in Bíňa as part of the “Region of Three Rivers” (#connect) Tourism Action Plan, implemented under the Interreg VI-A Hungary–Slovakia Programme. The project, titled “Infrastructure Developments for Cultural Tourism” (#connect4), aims to create a unified and competitive destination across the Lower Ipeľ, Hron, and Börzsöny regions, with a special focus on the area’s lesser-known hidden cultural treasures.

The action plan will be delivered through four sector-specific tourism projects and one supporting marketing project, coordinated by the Pontibus EGTC and the Ister-Granum EGTC. One of the most significant cultural cornerstones – and true gems – of this large-scale cross-border initiative is the municipality of Bíňa. The investment taking place here will directly contribute to securing the region’s unique traditions a well-deserved place on the tourism map.

The existing village museum building will be transformed into the Bíňa Premonstratensian Church Visitor Centre, a modern cultural attraction. Its interactive, experience-based exhibition will not only reveal the village’s thousand-year history and the mysteries of the Avar earthworks, but will also immerse visitors in the daily life and spirituality of the Premonstratensian Order, which shaped the history and identity of Bíňa for centuries.
