The study can be divided into three parts. First, (with regard to the task specification) the EGTC Regulation is analyzed within the relevant international and community legal environment. Subsequently, the EU regulation is scrutinized with specific attention to the current project dimension. Finally, the authors examine the Hungarian and Romanian domestic national level legislation and focus on those legislation areas that allow cross-border institutional cooperation between municipalities.
