International Youth Meeting in Lendava

An international youth meeting took place in Lendava on 11 November 2022. The Slovenian and Hungarian youth had a chance to spend a  meaningful day together, where, besides theoretical and sports games, they could gain insight into the regional and community development processes related to youth.

The event was co-organised by the Hungarian Youth Organisation of Muravidék (in Hungarian: MMISZ), Szentgotthárd City Youth Council and the Muraba EGTC. Péter Kovács, president of the National Youth Council of Hungary, also honoured the event with his participation.

Muraba has submitted EGTC application for Erasmus+ call

The Erasmus+ project “Youth and Social Media” is based on the media and news consumption of young people in rural areas and their personal activity on social media. In the target group of 14-18 year olds, it can be observed that news is read in almost little or very small proportion, while at the same time, they are actively present on various social media sites. They are typically open to the communication and media professions, yet, their real community activity in schools is low. The Muraba EGTC aims to enhance the skills related to this field.

During the implementation, a study tour and six workshops will take place where young people can learn about the dangers of fake news and learn basic communication skills. The aim is to strengthen critical thinking, to which end, lectures and debates will be organised.

As a result of the project, around 20 young people will create and operate an urban (Szentgotthárd) online social networking site for communicating social information, and sharing news. This way, a completely new platform will be established that has not been previously implemented at the local level.
