Humanitarian aid for Transcarpathia County Veteran Hospital

Donors from the Netherlands and Hungary arrived in Transcarpathia with significant humanitarian aid in March 2023.

A humanitarian aid shipment from the Netherlands, led by William Shake, included rehabilitation equipment. Dr. Tatjána Erdélyi, head of the Várda Cultural and Traditional Association brought medicines, hygiene products and medical consumables.

The donors visited the Regional Children’s Home in Svaliava, where they brought basic necessities for local children and internal Ukrainian refugees temporarily being sheltered there.

It was not the first time the donors visited Transcarpathia, as they have made donations to the Children’s Clinic in Uzhhorod, the Hospital of Berehove and other institutions on several occasions.

Donation for Csapi 2 Széchenyi István High School

The principal of Csapi 2 Széchenyi István Secondary School (Chop Secondary School) last year turned to the public via TV21 Uzhhorod news that the school needed a high-performance power generator. István Szabó, vice-president of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County General Assembly, forwarded the request to Erika Groska, CEO of Groska Ltd., who generously donated a high-performance aggregator to the school.

The valuable equipment was personally delivered to the school by Andrea Szabóné Cap, the director of Tisza EGTC. The Tisza EGTC has been providing continuous assistance to the settlements of Transcarpathia since the beginning of the war. Thanks to the power generator, worth more than HUF 800,000, children can now finally study in warm classrooms.

However, the local kindergarten is also in need of a power generator, as unfortunately the children are currently conducting their daily activities in a cold environment. Efforts are underway to ensure that the youngest ones can enjoy their playtime in warm rooms as soon as possible.
