The Ipoly-völgye (Ipoly-valley) European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation with Limited Liability was registered on 24.01.2017 and brings together 29 settlements on the Hungarian-Slovak border. The area of operation of the grouping covers a total of 464 km2 in the subregions of Ipoly/Ipeľ Valley, Szécsényi hills and Cserhátvidék/Cerová vrchovina. The registered office of the EGTC is located in the Hungarian municipality of Ludányhalászi.

The general and specific objectives of the Ipoly-völgye EGTC are:

  • the establishment and maintenance of cooperation between its members in the scope of cross-border regional development activities;
  • strengthening and promoting social and economic cohesion through the implementation of territorial programmes co-financed by the European Union, exploiting the advantages of the Grouping’s status as a legal entity.
