A comprehensive, sustainable tourism development project is set to begin in Bíňa as part of the “Region of Three Rivers” (#connect) Tourism Action Plan, implemented under the Interreg VI-A Hungary–Slovakia Programme. The project, titled “Infrastructure Developments for Cultural Tourism” (#connect4), aims to create a unified and competitive destination across the Lower Ipeľ, Hron, and Börzsöny regions, with a special focus on the area’s lesser-known hidden cultural treasures.

A comprehensive tourism development programme is being launched in the Lower Ipoly (Ipel) and Garam (Hron) river regions, as well as in the Börzsöny area. The action plan aims to transform the Hungarian–Slovak border region into a more integrated, attractive, and sustainable tourism destination.

The Pontibus EGTC organised a conference to promote cooperation on the field of tourism at the Sacher House in Želiezovce.

The Pontibus EGTC’s employment action plan, called RE-START (“Creating Needs Based Employment in the Lower Ipel Valley”), primarily seeks to integrate unskilled workforce and older generations in the labour market, paying special attention to the working-age population outside the labour market.

A new home for the elderly was built in Salka. There is a growing need for elderly care everywhere, and the waiting list is particularly long in the region. The new facility, which was created by renovating an existing but unoccupied building in the municipality, aims to fulfil this need.
