New home for the elderly built in Salka
Information
A new home for the elderly was built in Salka. There is a growing need for elderly care everywhere, and the waiting list is particularly long in the region. The new facility, which was created by renovating an existing but unoccupied building in the municipality, aims to fulfil this need. The home has 20 beds, 8 double rooms and 4 single rooms, each of them equipped with its own social room. The new facility also created 10 new jobs by hiring staff taking care of the elderly. The total value of the investment was EUR 631,000, out of which EUR 600,000 was co-financed by the EU and Slovakia. The development was implemented within the RE-STRUCTURE project within the framework of RE-START action plan under the Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary Cooperation Programme.
