The Pontibus EGTC organised a conference to promote cooperation on the field of tourism at the Sacher House in Želiezovce. The focus of the event was the development of a sustainable, coordinated tourism area for the Lower-Ipeľ and Hron rivers, based on the cooperation of regional actors.
The participants were welcomed by Tibor Csenger, Vice President of Nitra County, who underlined the importance of regional cooperation and the development of a tourism action plan. Gábor Bódis, tourism and marketing expert, presented examples of regional marketing and tourism best practices that have been well established elsewhere.

Pontibus EGTC then presented the results of the research targeting laying down the basis for regional cooperation and the expected conditions call for proposals for the development of tourism action plans of the INTERREG VI-A Hungary-Slovakia Programme. Csemadok from Želiezovce, a partner in the EGTC’s small project, and the Bernecebaráti Tourist and Cultural Association presented their cooperation, which has already been established in the past. Finally, the participants were informed about the gastro-cultural activities of the Sacher House. The representatives of the municipalities and NGOs present showed great interest and asked many questions to the representatives of the organisations implementing the small project. The event ended with a workshop on cooperation in tourism.

The event was supported by the Small Project Fund of the Interreg VI-A Hungary-Slovakia Programme, in the framework of the small project HUSK/2301/3.2/339 PONTIBUS EVENTS +. The event took place on 27.06.2024 at the Sacher House in Želiezovce (Schubertova 229/26, SK-93701 Želiezovce, Slovakia). The total amount of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) support for the entire small project, which will include further cross-border events in the near future, amounts to EUR 29 070, granted by the European Union under the INTERREG VI-A Hungary-Slovakia Programme.
