Strategic partnership agreement between Tibor Navracsics, Minister for Regional Development and the Utilisation of EU funds, and the Pannon EGTC

In all channels, the Ministry for Regional Development underlines the importance of involving local organisations and knowledge centres into the planning process. To strengthen this effort, strategic agreements are signed with those partners who can provide a meaningful contribution to the country’s development.

The main goal of the strategic partnership agreement with the Pannon EGTC is to ensure an organised discussion with the Ministry for Regional Development about the content of various draft legislation and about the strategic objectives of the government.

To this end, Tibor Navracsics, Minister for Regional Development, and the P resident of the Pannon EGTC, dr. László Őri signed a strategic partnership agreement on 24 January 2023. Under this agreement, the Ministry for Regional Development will consult the Pannon EGTC in the preparation, amendment and revision of legislation in the following areas:

– regional development;

– strategic planning, in particular the elaboration of regional development concepts and programmes of the concerned geographical and specialised areas;

– developing proposals and frameworks to increase the efficiency of utilising of EU funds and implementing operational programmes;

– participating in the promotion of utilising direct EU funds by Hungarian actors;

– participating in the implementation of Veszprém’s winning proposal programme for the European Capital of Culture 2023, and the tasks related to future European Capital of Culture proposals;

– professional cooperation for enhancing the knowledge regarding development policy and the European Union among local government employees, as well as for integrating effective regional development practices and perspectives in the further training possibilities of public sector employees.
