Arrabona EGTC

The Arrabona EGTC organized a study tour to Nagypáli and ZalaZone on 22 September 2022, to which the leaders and representatives of its member municipalities were invited. The programme was implemented within the ECO-TOUR-COOP project SKHU/WETA/2201/4.1/010. At the ZalaZone Centre, the participants visited the Research and Technology Centre and the facilities of the Innovation and Training Centre of the Széchenyi István University of Győr in Zalaegerszeg, as well as the automotive test track. During the second half of the day, the group went to Nagypáli, where they visited one of the main location of Green Road Village Development Programme. Several energy measures were implemented in the municipality, such as the installation of solar systems, solar collectors, solar panels and solar plants. Beside the Community Centre, an energy park was established, where, apart from demonstrating the achievements, they aim to promote the applied technologies as well. Energy plantation experiments are also being carried out in the municipality, which started with the establishment of a willow plantation for biomass energy in 2012. The next stage of the energy plantation experiments was the emerald tree initiative, which was first implemented in Nagypáli in 2014. During the study tour the participants also had the opportunity to discuss joint project ideas based on what they learnt on the tour.
