WaVE is a project aiming to utilize and reassess water heritage. Thanks to its ecosystem-based approach, the project has the positive side effect of promoting socio-economic growth and climate change adaptation in the participating sites, while preserving and enhancing nature and heritage.
Meeting the specific requirements of the Interreg Europe programme, the project aims to promote beneficial changes focusing on the development of already existing policies. To this end, the partners, taking part in WaVE, prepare their action plans, which they will implement in the last year of the project. In order to create an action plan, they cooperate closely, they take part in knowledge transfer events, exchange good practices and actively involve local stakeholders in the development process. As a result of the project, the policies and programmes for the integrated validation and development of the water-related heritage could change in a positive direction, and new project ideas could be implemented.
