On 27 September 2024, the Kunsziget and its region wastewater treatment plant modernisation and extension project was closed with a handover ceremony in the presence of Dr. István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture. The project was implemented within the framework of the KEHOP-2.2.2.2-15 “Call for proposals for the implementation of wastewater drainage and treatment improvements for municipalities with development obligations”.

The PR and communication tasks related to the project were carried out by Arrabona EGTC.

At the closing event, Mrs Ivánné Lendvai, Mayor of Kunsziget Municipality, welcomed the participants. In her speech, she pointed out the long-term effects of the development and thanked the Hungarian government for its help and the work of the participants in the development.

Speakers at the event organised by Arrabona EGTC were Dr. István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture, Zoltán Németh, President of Győr-Moson-Sopron County, Ottó Horváth, CEO of Pannon-víz Ltd. and Kornél Csordás, Regional Chief Engineer of Colas Alterra Ltd.

Deputy Minister of Construction and Transport Nándor Csepreghy sent a letter congratulating the successful implementation of the project and called it a model to be followed for future investments, both in terms of environmental protection and energy efficiency.

As a result of the HUF 3.925 billion grant, the power plant will be able to serve the increased demand of the population in the 9 municipalities concerned: Kunsziget, Dunaszeg, Dunaszentpál, Győrladamér, Győrzámoly, Lébény, Mecsér, Mosonszentmiklós, Öttevény. The treatment of the resulting wastewater is solved in the long term, with clean water meeting the maximum treatment limits being discharged into the Danube. Successful implementation will ensure that Hungary complies with EU legislation and will also provide opportunities for further improvements.

The Arrabona EGTC team congratulates on the successful implementation of the project!
