Community centre in Máriakálnok renovated
Information
A ceremony was held to inaugurate the renovated community centre in Máriakálnok, which will serve as an attractive community and cultural centre in the heart of the village, not only for locals but also for visitors.
The Municipality of Máriakálnok and the Arrabona EGTC have worked together to completely renovate the more than 100-year-old community centre. The project was implemented with a grant of HUF 169.97 million under the European Union Call for Proposals TOP_PLUSZ-1.2.1-21.
During the renovation, the building was renewed inside and out, with new windows and doors, modernised mechanical installations, insulated and repainted walls and new flooring. The renovation also included the creation of a larger auditorium to provide a suitable venue for events, and the construction of a stage.
The renovated building not only hosts local community events, but also adds to the tourist attractiveness of Máriakálnok.
The inauguration ceremony took place on 12 December 2024 and was attended by the residents of the village and the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. István Nagy, Member of Parliament.
The renovated community centre will continue to be a key venue for the life of the local community, while offering new opportunities for cultural and touristic events.
