A HATÁRON ÁTNYÚLÓ EGYÜTTMŰKÖDÉS ÉS A TURIZMUSFEJLESZTÉS KAPCSOLATÁNAK VIZSGÁLATA KOMÁROM-ESZTERGOM MEGYE, NYITRA KERÜLET ÉS AZ ISTER- GRANUM EGTC PÉLDÁJÁN
Abstract
In the dissertation, I aim to present a model example of cross-border cooperation in the field of tourism. The research seeks to examine, from a regional perspective, the possibilities of linking border location, international collaboration, and tourism.
The doctoral thesis intends to showcase, through a case study, an initiative from the Hungarian–Slovak border region that, in the course of the European Union’s development of cross-border cooperation, was the first in Central Europe to establish a European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC). The dissertation primarily strives to explore and present socio-geographical, and specifically tourism-geographical, contexts, while also taking into account broader social processes and factors necessary for understanding spatially organized economic processes. One of the fundamental research questions of the dissertation concerns the exploration of the relationships and collaborations of border regions.
