Pons Danubii EGTC

Within the framework of the DANUrB+ project on 4 March 2020, students of the Slovak University of Technology visited Kolárovo and Komárno in order to get to know the tourist development sites located in the area of the municipalities of the Pons Danubii, previously selected together with the local authorities. The establishment of a small recreational area with marina, boat rental and resting place is planned on the bank of the River Váh, in Kolárovo. Moreover, the creation of a public beach, lookout and the infrastructure development of the already existing and popular boat rental are also planned in Komárno, along the backwater of the River Váh.

The students visited the area of the Kormoran Tourist Club, where further investments are planned (redesign of the boat storage building, reconstruction of the pier, creation of an accommodation facility). During the summer semester in 2022, the students will have the opportunity to prepare several visual designs. Further workshops and site visits are envisaged until the implementation of the visual designing process. An exhibition will be opened presenting the works of the students and the best ideas will form part of the future action plans of the DANUrB+ project.
