The Pons Danubii European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation implemented a small tourism project with an amount of HUF 7 million on the bank of the backwater of the River Váh in Komárno, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary. As a result of the project, a resting place was created in the south-eastern part of the area. The landscaping works took place in October 2021.

As part of the development, a summer house with tables and benches, along with a barbecue area with a rack for ’Hungarian pot’ has been installed. 4 outdoor benches and bicycle stands were placed on the area of almost 4 hectares and the territory was landscaped. The development is in line with the development concept of the backwater area. The picnic area was built in cooperation with the local authority.

The aim of the development is to maintain the natural character of the area, while providing active recreational opportunities for those who wish to relax. The objective of the development of the municipality is to make as many bank sections accessible for tourism as possible.
