Extraordinary Technical Committee meeting and Sustainability Expert Forum

On 16 January 2025, Arrabona EGTC held its extraordinary Cross-Border Sustainability Technical Committee Meeting, which on this occasion also provided an open technical forum for their member municipalities.
The central theme of the forum was the growing focus on energy management systems in Europe and worldwide.
The participants were first given a general presentation on the potential of energy management systems by Tamás Zoltán Németh, Director of Arrabona EGTC. He presented the current situation of energy management in Hungarian municipalities. He then drew attention to the importance of the information and observations that can be gained from data collection and analysis, using a specific example, and then discussed the approach to implementing the system.
Afterwards, Mária Simon, Project Manager of Arrabona EGTC, presented the opportunities offered by the DIMOP Plus-2.1.1-24 “Development and implementation of energy management systems for municipalities”. Applications can be submitted under the already published call from 14 February to 21 March 2025. The amount of the grant is 75.000.000 – 225.000.000 forints, the aid intensity is 100%. The call for applications is open to local municipalities on their own, to their budgetary bodies in the form of consortia, to municipal offices and to companies wholly owned by municipalities.
Finally, the participants were informed about the travelling camps, with a special focus on the Pannonhalma-Szigetköz bicycle and Mosoni-Duna watercamps organised in cooperation with Arrabona EGTC.The travelling camps are open not only to Hungarian schools and organisations (civil and church organisations) in Hungary, but also to Hungarian schools and organisations (civil and church organisations) from abroad.
