First stakeholder meeting
Information
Ister – Gramun EGTC is the lead partner in the SLOWDOWN project funded by the Interreg-Europe programme. The project focuses on slow tourism.
The first stakeholder meeting took place on 13 December 2024 in Lábatlan, in the Dunamente Ecocentre. The participants of the workshop were the heads and staff of the local tourism coordinating offices (TDM, Tourinform) of the Ister – Granum region.
Péter Nagy – Director of EGTC – presented the project, its objectives, major milestones and opportunities that could be useful for the region in the long term.
The EGTC has undertaken to review the Green Tourism Development Strategy of Komárom – Esztergom County. Erika Farkas, from the County Office, presented the tourism strategies of the County.
After the introductory presentations, the participants could get involved in an interactive workshop. The organisers were able to add important information to the StatusQuo analysis, which will form the basis of the slow tourism section of the County’s strategy to be drawn up. Good and bad examples of developments in recent years were also discussed. It was possible to identify areas that are currently less visited but which, with minor interventions, could be made attractive to visitors who prefer to seek a quieter, slower pace in the areas we want to discover and visit.
Ister – Granum will organise further meetings in the framework of the project at approximately quarterly intervals. For the next one, it is planned to invite operators with experience in this field of tourism at regional level.
