Vacation for Ukrainian children in Transcarpathia

On 29 April, the staff of Tisza EGTC, Andrea Szabóné Cap, director, and Judit Jevcsák, deputy director, conducted a site inspection and field visit at the landfill complex in Yanoshi, which is being built within the ZeroWaste project. József Bacskai, Consul General of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhhorod, László Horváth, Deputy Mayor of Berehovo, Géza Kész and Edina Sebestyén Kész, representing the BudresProm construction company, also took part in the field visit.
The construction works of the waste processing and sorting plant under construction in Makkosjános are progressing well, almost half of it have already been completed. The project is supported by the European Union and the Hungarian Government, and according to the plans, it will be able to process more than 30,000 tons of solid waste annually from the 10 micro-regions of the Beregszász district. The event presenting the results of the project took place on December 18, 2023 in Beregszász.
On 17 August 2023, the final conference of the REVITAL I project under the ENI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine was held in Yanoshi (Ukraine).
The Tisza EGTC project, in the framework of which a total of 48 people (children from Kharkiv and Kyiv and their accompanying persons) were provided with recreational and relaxation opportunities in the Transcarpathian Region with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary was successfully completed.
On 23 May 2023, the first official press conference of the project ‘ZeroWaste: Theory for Everybody, Practice for Everyone in the Cross-Border Region’ (HUSKROUA/1701/LIP/006) was held in Nyíregyháza (HU), and on 8 June the project kick-off event was held in Yanoshi, Berehove district (UA).
The work area, where within the framework of the ZeroWaste project a landfill and waste sorting plant will be built, was officially handed over on 18 April 2023.
In March 2023, several online professional consultations took place in the framework of the REVITAL I project, involving the experts of Tisza EGTC, the Institute of Geological Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and researchers of the University of Miskolc and Geogold Ltd. The topic of the discussions was the progress of the Concept Note document, which was one of the results of the project.
Donors from the Netherlands and Hungary arrived in Transcarpathia with significant humanitarian aid in March 2023.
At the end of 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade launched a call for proposals to support the operational and project funding activities of the European Groupings for Territorial Cooperation in 2023. The available funding was HUF 170 million, of which a maximum of HUF 17 million per applicant could be awarded.
