The work area, where within the framework of the ZeroWaste project a landfill and waste sorting plant will be built, was officially handed over on 18 April 2023.

The signature of the official document on handing over the work area was attended by Oszkár Seszták, President of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Council and President of Tisza EGTC, Volodymyr Csubirko, President of Transcarpathian County Council and Co-Chair of Tisza EGTC, Szabóné Cap Andrea, Director of Tisza EGTC and Zoltán Babják, Mayor of Berehove.

After a long period of legal preparation, the construction works can now begin.

The project involves the construction of a landfill and the establishment of a waste sorting plant in Rimavské Janovce, in the area of the Municipality of Berehove. The investment will ensure European-quality waste management for more than 200 thousand inhabitants of the district of Berehove.

The project with a budget of more than EUR 7 million is supported jointly by Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2017-2014 and the Ministry of Energy of Hungary.
