Opening the Kiscsillag Reformed Nursery of Győr

The new building was inaugurated on 16 February 2023 within the framework of the EU project “Establishing the Reformed Nursery of Győr”, which was implemented under the consortium leadership of the Municipality of Győr, in partnership with the Reformed Church of Győr.

Application writing and project management tasks were continuously performed by the EGTC Arrabona since 2019.

As a result of the project, a modern, energy efficient, fully accessible building was built, with a subsidy of HUF 592 million.

Extension of the wastewater treatment plant of Kunsziget and its outskirts

In the framework of the Environment and Energy Efficiency Operational Programme, the area’s overloaded wastewater treatment plant will be expanded and modernised. The investment was preceded by lengthy preparatory work, and the development will be implemented with a non-refundable European Union grant of HUF 3,926 billion.

The population of settlements in the region has increased significantly over the last decade, with a proportional increase in water consumption and waste water. In response to this problem, the settlements successfully obtained funding with the National Development Office Nonprofit Ltd. in a consortium. Work started in February 2023.

Testing is expected to start in the first half of next year and the expanded and upgraded waste water treatment plant is planned to be operational at full capacity in December 2024.

In the framework of the project, the mandatory information and public security tasks are carried out by the Arrabona EGTC.

Socialisation of Győr’s SECAP (Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan)

Széchenyi István University held socialisation workshops for the upcoming Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) in Győr in cooperation with the Arrabona EGTC. In the framework of this series of five events, he involved the professional organisations and institutions of the city in the process of elaborating a strategy.

The topics of the first meeting were real estate modernisation and operation, transport development and public lighting. Meanwhile, during the second event in Győr, the focus was on industrial actors.

Specialised organisations and institutions and civil society organisations operating in the city were invited to the third stage of the series. Using the “world café” method, participants covered 3 major topics, such as managing decision-making and procurement procedures, adaptation to climate change, and supporting the development of awareness-raising activities and cooperation.

The last plenary workshop was held on 2 March 2023, and focused on prioritising the ideas collected so far. The staff of the University and the Arrabona EGTC will prepare the most important projects of the organisations participating in the workshop in the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan of the city accordingly.
