The REHEATEAST project aims to reduce the demand for fossil energy in district heating and cooling (DHC) systems through various incentives, measures and adaptive solutions by knowledge sharing, awareness raising and increased cooperation between actors. The project aims to promote a holistic approach rather than sectoral thinking.
After almost a year of preparation, the Pannon EGTC’s general assembly decided on the Croatian and Bosnian universities’ intention to join.
The EGTC’s main objective is to provide a platform and a framework for cooperation between actors from the South Pannonian region along the Drava and Sava rivers, which can be used as a platform for the exchange of experience and as a joint development opportunity using EU funds. In line with these objectives, their mission is to support the professional, political and social integration of these regions in Europe.
On 25 January Gábor Mayer, among others, held a meeting at the university and met with regional mayors, before holding a press conference on the development directions of Baranya at the county hall.
At the event, the State Secretary stressed that the primary task of regional development is to reduce the gap between underdeveloped and developed regions.
At the invitation of the University North, the Pannon EGTC delegation visited Varaždin on August 29, 2023.
Pannon EGTC, together with CESCI and the Mura Region EGTC, organised a professional event on cross-border trade of local products in Lenti on 30 May 2023, with the support of the Association of European Border Regions and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
The Pannon EGTC held the closing conference of the “CB Joint Strategy” project at the Kodály Centre in Pécs on 26 April 2023.
The Information day of the strategic project “CBJointStrategy – Supporting the development of the HU-HR border region by a common strategy jointly formulated by the various actors of the cross-border area”, which is implemented within the Interreg V-A – Hungary-Croatia Cross-border Co-operation Programme 2014-2020, was held on Friday, 31st of March 2023 in the city of Barcs.
The B-Solutions 2.0 initiative is a continuation of the programme, launched by the European Commission in 2018 under the same name, to tackle cross-border barriers in the European Union. In particular, the programme provides expert assistance to cross-border areas and communities to develop specific solutions for cross-border legal obstacles.
At the end of 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade launched a call for proposals to support the operational and project funding activities of the European Groupings for Territorial Cooperation in 2023. The available funding was HUF 170 million, of which a maximum of HUF 17 million per applicant could be awarded.
