TORYSA EGTC
Information
The TORYSA European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation with Limited Liability was registered on 1. 11. 2013 on the Hungarian-Slovak border section based on the cooperation of the municipalities of Gönc and Sárazsadány in Hungary and Čižatice in Slovakia. The EGTC covers 60,37 km2, in the regions of Hernád/Hornád Valley and Zempléni-hegység/Zemplínske vrchy. The total population of the Grouping is 2 623 people and it is based in Sárazsadány, Hungary.
The objectives of the EGTC are the following:
- alongside the elaboration of a common development programme is to enable, promote and strengthen the economic and social cohesion through implementation of territorial cooperation programmes realized by territorial cooperation and co-financed by the European Union, exploiting the advantages of the EGTC’s Grouping’s status as a legal entity, within the administrative confines borders of the members of the EGTC, with impact to further territories affected by the activity of the grouping;
- organization of the cultural and economic life of the region in accordance with the needs of the population, taking into account folk traditions, cultural values and their promotion to all ages of the society;
- establish cooperation with regional, county and international NGOs;
- preservation of natural and architectural heritage.
