Forum for Cross-border Tourism Development

Arrabona EGTC held a Cross-border Tourism Development Forum on 18 April 2024, hosted by the Archabbey of Pannonhalma, with the support of the cross-border Small Project Fund.
The forum was attended mainly by tourism operators and representatives of the Szigetköz-Žitný ostrov regions, tourism service providers and representatives of the region. The aim of the event was to further strengthen cross-border relations between the tourism organisations of Szigetköz and Žitný ostrov.
During the event, the professional committee of cross-border tourism was presented, the trends of active tourism development, the development strategy of the Győr-Pannonhalma destination, travelling camps, the functioning and financing of the OOCR (Slovakian destination management organisation) were discussed.
The joint workshop developed a tourism value system using the pair-comparison method, the results of which will be used in the development of a promotional board game for the region. This will be announced by Arrabona EGTC in the future.
The event is part of the “Arrabona HUSK/SPF/2301/3.2/080 Cross-border cooperation in the Arrabona EGTC area” project, funded by the Small Project Fund of the Interreg VI-A Hungary-Slovakia Programme. The EU grant support is EUR 21 145.
