Without Borders: the Arrabona EGTC 2024 success stories

On 14 November 2024, the Arrabona EGTC organised a successful study tour for the mayors of the Szigetköz and Csallóköz municipalities. The aim of the event was for the participants to get to know each other better, while gaining insight into the sites of joint projects with Arrabona.
The project HUSK/2302/1.2/081, Cross-Border Disaster Risk Prevention Cooperation (#riskcoop), is implemented in cooperation of 11 partners between 01.07.2024 and 31.12.2026 with a total grant of 1.018 729,76 EUR within the Interreg VI-A Hungary-Slovakia Programme.
A ceremony was held to inaugurate the renovated community centre in Máriakálnok, which will serve as an attractive community and cultural centre in the heart of the village, not only for locals but also for visitors.
On 27 September 2024, the Kunsziget and its region wastewater treatment plant modernisation and extension project was closed with a handover ceremony in the presence of Dr. István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture.
The 4th Győr Climate Expo was held between 3 and 5 October 2024, where Arrabona EGTC as co-organiser was responsible for the organisation and implementation of professional programmes and for the provision of awareness-raising programmes.
On 29 June 2024, in the presence of Dr. István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture, the active tourist entry and exit point created by the Dunakilit Municipality and Arrabona EGTC was inaugurated.
Arrabona EGTC held a Border Sustainability Forum on 22 May 2024 in the framework of the cross-border Small Projects Fund application, which took place in the banquet hall of the Town Hall of Mosonmagyaróvár, and, in the afternoon, the professional and round table discussions continued in a restaurant in Mosonmagyaróvár.
Arrabona EGTC held a Border Tourism Development Forum on 18 April 2024, hosted by the Archabbey of Pannonhalma, with the support of the cross-border Small Project Fund.
On 25 January 2024, the first workshop of the strategic project ACCESS, “Promoting Legal Accessibility along the Slovak-Hungarian Border”, was held in Győr by CESCI (Central European Service for Cross-Border Initiatives), in cooperation with Arrabona EGTC.
