The project ‘Actively together for the values and heritage of Győr!’, with identification number TOP-7.1.1-16-H-ESZA-2020-01591, was successfully implemented.

Implementation period: 01 February 2021 – 31 May 2022. The main aim of the project is to revive and promote the local cultural heritage, the local memory, the local traditions, forgotten myths and family stories of the city.

Within the framework of the project, tour routes have been established which focus on the local history, cultural uniqueness and urban myths of Győr These are titled as “From Újváros to the Moson Danube” and “Past-evoking city tour.”

The urban myths and the local and family stories of Győr processed during the local history tours and prepared through community actions were presented at a photo exhibition, illustrated by the pictures of a photographer, Béla Szabó. In order to record and digitalise the myths and family stories, two videos focusing on the two routes were also recorded beside the guidebook (Video 1; Video 2).

During the closing event of the project on 20 May 2022, the participants had a possibility, after the press conference, to take part in a local history tour in the inner city of Győr. It was led by József Horváth, deputy head of the Dr. Kovács Pál Library and Community Centre. The final location of the event was the Kisfaludy Library.  The visitors could see the exhibition and the two videos and they were offered with catering, too..
