Via Carpatia EGTC

As part of the “Living History” [Élő történelem] project, the restoration of the Patay Castle in Abaújszántó-Cekeháza is currently ongoing; the installation of the new slab is already in progress. Within the framework of the present project, the first phase of the restoration of the castle will take place, which includes the static reinforcement of the ruined castle’s foundations, joining separate and shattered walls, in other words “stitching”. New reinforced concrete wreaths and slabs will be completed, the collapsed vaults will be rebuilt, and  a new roof will be put on the building to ensure long-term preservation. In the first phase – until the start of full renovation – safe entry to the building will be ensured.
