The Young4Climate project has been launched

Young4Climate is a project approved and implemented under the  “Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation” (SK-Climate) and co-financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and the State Budget of the Slovak Republic. The project will be implemented by Via Carpatia EGTC in cooperation with the Technical University of Košice and Smart Innovation Norway AS.

The aim of the project is to raise awareness of climate change adaptation and implement related activities through a series of innovative awareness-raising activities for students and their families in 62 schools in the Košice Region.

The results of the project include 7 thematic educational programmes on climate change adaptation and mitigation: online games and promotion on social networks, a competition between schools, implementation of demonstration educational measures and school briefings.

Secondary schools within the scope of the Kosice County Municipality have the opportunity to apply for the project.

Secondary schools can win interesting awards such as a green wall, electric composters or selective waste bins. Part of the competition is to link students’ education to the topic of climate crisis through an interactive online game. The competition will have two rounds: the implementation and evaluation of the first round between March and April 2023, and the implementation and evaluation of the second round will take place between September and November 2023.
