Within this project, robotic technology was used to descend deep into the salt mine of Solotvyno, in order to gather and evaluate information inaccessible for experts regarding the dangerous geological processes of the mine. These geological processes pose a threat of an ecological disaster for the municipality, and they cause salt water to flow into the Tisza river, which has negative effects not only on Transcarpathia and Hungary, but on Europe in general. There has been difficulties during the implementation of the project due to the border closure caused by COVID-19, therefore an extension of the project will be requested.
