Arrabona EGTC

The Municipality of Dunasziget has won a grant of HUF 42,435,146 under the call for proposals VP6-7.2.1.1-21 “Development of local roads in rural areas”, announced by the Ministry of Agriculture. This enabled the complete resurfacing of Akácos Street in the municipality. The official opening took place on 23 June 2023.

Dr. István Nagy, Minister of Agriculture, attended the ceremony also as the regional Deputy of the Hungarian Parliament, and in his speech he pointed out that the Rural Development Programme’s call for proposals aims to improve local roads in the countryside owned or managed by municipalities. He also noted that in the Partnership Agreement, the Government has set the objective of developing transport infrastructure in rural areas, improving access to basic services and promoting geographical mobility.

Referring to the special geographical location of the municipality, Benjamin Cseh, Mayor of Dunasziget, stressed the responsibility and task of coordinating the municipalities of Dunasziget, which is a municipality of stunning natural beauty, and of generating development resources. Regarding the completed works of the Akácos Street, he said that it was the most expensive investment ever made by the municipality and the one that had received the largest amount of funding.
