The main objective of the project is to promote the internationalisation of small and medium-sized enterprises in the EU’s border regions, thus contributing to an increase in their competitiveness.

The final document of the tender is the Action Plan, which was created by the five regions in the partnership, each in their own area. The Pannon EGTC Action Plan focuses on creating a programme that supports less prepared SMEs in the internationalisation process.

The programme will produce a ‘test of preparedness’ to help assess the level of readiness for internationalisation of the applicant SMEs (or consortium of cooperating SMEs) according to their ambitions or objectives, and then a development plan on how to increase their preparedness to a level that realistically allows internationalisation. The programme will also result in a cross-border call for proposals to enable SMEs to realise these ambitions.
